Before any AI can help your supply chain, you need a shared map of it. The SCOR model (Supply Chain Operations Reference, maintained by ASCM) gives you that map in five process areas: Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, Return — in Arabic you can think of them as the takhtit / tawrid / tasniʿ / tawsil / irjaʿ chain. A SCOR Level-2 map decomposes each of those into process categories (for example, Source splits into stocked, make-to-order and engineer-to-order procurement). This is the foundation every later module builds on.

Why this matters

Most teams describe their chain in stories, not structure. A standard reference model lets you benchmark, find gaps, and hand a clean brief to a GenAI assistant. When Claude or ChatGPT knows your chain in SCOR terms, its recommendations stop being generic and start being yours.

Step-by-step: build your SCOR Level-2 map

  1. List every product family or SKU group you manage.
  2. For one family, write the end-to-end flow from raw material to customer, naming each step.
  3. Tag each step to one of Plan / Source / Make / Deliver / Return.
  4. Split each tagged area into its Level-2 category (e.g. Deliver → deliver stocked product vs. deliver retail).
  5. Note who owns each process and which system records it (ERP, spreadsheet, WhatsApp).

Then use a GenAI assistant to pressure-test and complete the map. Paste your draft and a description of your business into Claude or Microsoft Copilot:
